| |  | | | | | | | The Hydrolic Plant by Shannon "Pat" Clyde | |  | | | This cartoon was before The Bilge Duck was born. I signed it with a stylish little "chop" which formed my initials PSC. At this point in my career on the LA I had never been back aft to engineering. I had to ask someone what a hydraulic plant was! On my first major underway cruise on the LOS ANGELES an opportunity presented itself that was ripe for spoofing. We attempted to begin our
trip to Pearl Harbor only to have it cut short by what was supposed to be a minor problem in the hydraulic plant main. After the L. Y. SPEAR got a hold of it, it apparently became a severe problem. Eventually, and after much cussing and spitting by CMDR Beedle, we made it out to sea with a "new & improved" hydraulic plant. Rumor had it COMSUBRON SIX wanted to keep us in the Atlantic and in his squadron by whatever means possible. [Click on the picture above to see a larger version.] | | | |  | |
