Snake Wake Herman  by The Bilge Duck

Snakewake Herman SOMWF #1

It was sometimes tough to fight off the boredom while steering the boat. Seaman Herman Ging, III appeared to have an especially hard time keeping the boat on the ordered course. "Steady-as-she-goes!" was not in his vocabulary. He was subsequently nicknamed "Snake Wake" Herman.

There may have been a Mid Watch Funnies prior to The Bilge Duck entering the scene with Son-O-Mid Watch Funnies. Memories fade. There were certainly Bilge Duck cartoons. This is
SOMW #1 and it appeared on the crews mess wall at 12:01 a.m. on 29 April 1981.
