| In the early days on Diego Garcia, the Seabees had not quite gotten around to building the
miniature golf course, swimming pool, weight room, chow hall, and other amenities that we would eventually discover on subsequent visits to this gem of the Indian Ocean. About the most interesting place to go in 1979 was the outdoor movie theatre and of course, the now famous Diego Burger stand. The cook swore there was no donkey meat in the Donkey Burger, but I noticed there were suspiciously few donkeys on this side of Donkey Gate. | |
