Dependents Cruise - 1981: Port of call: Lahaina, Maui - Storm | | | Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii was chosen for its safe harbor by early ships masters. The sheltered harbor offers excellent protection from the high winds and waves of Pacific storms. The LA anchored pretty far out in the harbor and
was subjected to a very strong storm surge and high winds. The anchor watch had a hellatious time preventing the boat from running aground. |
